New ideas and new ways of thinking can be scary. Here are a couple podcasts that will hopefully change your views on an idea that is revolting to most people: Fasting.
I intermittent fast several times per week. I’ve done a couple 36-48 hour fasts as well. I’m going to do an extended 5+ day fast soon. I began intermittent fasting as a means to detox my body, but maintained the practice due to the mental clarity I noticed. I think more people should utilize fasting to improve their health and body composition (*cough* Dad *ahem*).
Interesting to me was the fact that fasting does not induce muscular atrophy, but astonishingly increases production of Human Growth Hormone, which helps build muscle (think Sammy Sosa) and is widely considered the fountain of youth hormone among the anti-aging community. Enjoy!
